The adventures of sea voyage in Joseph Conrad’s novel is the backdrop of a newly opened COCKTAIL LOUNGE in the Duxton area

.

A cocktail and dining concept which opened its doors recently on Craig Road takes you on a journey of six discovery experiences in design, mixology and dining. Heading the design team of Set of Six cocktail parlour is founder and lead designer of Hot Design Folks, Evgeniya Lazareva, who worked closely with Chef Gonzalo Landin to harmonise the interior spaces with culinary skills.

Accent details and furniture style inspired by travel and fashion of the 1880s colonial era

Inspired by the novel Set of Six by Joseph Conrad, the cocktail lounge captures the writer’s experiences at sea on the sailboat Vidar as part of the crew of Captain James Craig – there’s the Craig Road connection. Unique decorations and found antiques complement the sense of adventure as do the curated libations and crafted house cocktails.

Wrapped with velvet curtains and decorated with traditional spice jars, a vintage spice cabinet dominates a tiny front room that disguises the entrance to the lounge. Through a concealed door, a hidden private room allows you, if you’re lucky, to indulge in a bespoke cocktail and champagne order by calling a quirky “Call For Champagne” button.

Warm wood tones, green hues and lush palms inspire the tropical atmosphere while accent details and furnishings capture travel and fashion characteristics of the colonial 1880s. Seletti Monkey lamps stare out cheekily as infinity ceiling mirrors and vanity mirrors create a play on perspectives and reflections.

It took a whole year of meticulous planning and conceptualisation from the team behind Set of Six to come up with every detail from the unique cocktail menu to the decor and bespoke furniture design. It is the perfect setting for your celebrations and intimate occasions; or a discovery of a new cocktail horizon in an elegant and playful atmosphere.

Singapore-based boutique design studio Hot Design Folks specialises in hospitality, commercial and F&B interiors, with a strong focus on brand identity and customer experience. Passionate about original ideas and experiential interiors, Hot Design Folks was founded in 2017 by Evgeniya Lazareva, an interior designer with over 10 years of experience in luxury and experiential interiors across Europe and Asia.
